Hypoxylon ticinense sl?
Wim de Groot, 06-03-2025 11:45
Several smal patches of Hypoxylon ticinense (sl?) on Fraxinus. Unfortunately no perithecia so no spores. Thick-walled chlamydospores present. The young fruitbodies have a very tomentose surface and a hairy border. I assume that given the lack of spores this is H.ticinense sl or does the hairy edge give an indication for H.subticinense?

Re : Hypoxylon ticinense sl?
Speculations on immature stromata are pointless.
I suggest you to rather follow the development of the fungus in its original station and make observations and take photos every month until it is fully ripe.
Then you will have answers to your questions.
