Habit recalling Lasiosphaeria glab./ovina. Spores hyaline, 4,2 x 2,5 µm, somewhat fusiform, apparently smooth.  Peridium heavily melanized, opaque, without special structure. External hyphae simple, hyaline.

Could this be Cephalotheca sulfurea? The ascocarp details and the habitat seem to match this species quite well. Cheers Richard

the peridium would appear not to be cephalothecoid and no hint of yellow
