Re:Hypomyces rosellus
Thank you Peter, but, why do you prefer H. odoratus than H. rosellus?
Using the key you attached I see this differences betwen both species: odoratus is red and yellow, rosellus only red (like mine); ascospores width 6-8 in odoratus, 4-6 in rosellus (6-6,4 in the middle, in the septum, in mine); apiculi length 2-4 in odoratus, 4-6 in rosellus (5,1-5,5 in mine). I think 2 caracters are more near H. rosellus (color and apiculi length) than H. odoratus (ascospores width), but it is the first time I try to identify an Hypomyces, I have no one experience.
Thanks

Re:Hypomyces rosellus
You probably right, Miguel.
Due to the length of the appendage, I would now say it's H.rosellus. I have not observed. Are you in the key but the width of the Spores (6-8 µm), it will H.rosellus but excluded. Another fungus of the literature has not read.

Re:Hypomyces rosellus
You are right, Peter, the spore width don't match with H. rosellus, it fits better with H. odoratus. And much more if we consider than my measurements are made at the constriction septum, if I had made the measurements at the bigger sporal width (not in the septum), it would be greater than 7 micras.
So, probably I am in the correct way but...
Thank you, Peter.
