This keys to Nectria (Cosmospora) wegeliniana, which occurs on Pseudovalsa berkeleyi but who knows true host range of any Cosmospora? I suspect that there is quite a lot of host specificity in fungicolous Cosmospora but we have not had the opportunity to explore this question. I wouuld want to know the anamorph and would be happy to culture if if you would send a fresh specimen. I would be happy to study any Cosmospora -- or Nectria -- that anybody would send to me.

thanks for your prompt reply! I agree it keys out next to C. wegeliniana but I lack good documentation on this species fro comparison.
It is a well defined species with thick wall and slightly tuberculate apex, I found it repeatedly and exclusively on this substrate. Hope the anamorph will help. I will share my fresh material with you and Christian.
