while looking for the pink Mollisia I naturally stumpled upon other species including Mycena tubarioides, but also some ascos.
I found these on some leaves. Somehow it didn't fit my former memries of the habitus of H. epiphyllys on leaves. So I picked a specimen.
These are 2-4 mm wide:

But the oddity can be figured in this photo.
It had huge asci. My estimate is something like 200x9 (IKI blue). Those brown myxospores are 12-14 wide. So you can estimate yourself. Maybe you get some other figures ;)
The paraphyses were about 2 micrometers wide and exceeded asci.
Strange for me, but hopefully not for you folks: Marja

Hi Marja,
Odd indeed, i consider it to be close to Hymenoscyphus/Phaeohelotium monticola, but the asci are too tall i think

Good Shot Miguel,
i think you are right, what type of apical ring this species has? Calycina for Bisporella.
cheers Stip

Leaves sound strange to me for a Bisporella! Maybe Stip was not that wrong. I suggest this to be Helotium eichleri = Pachydisca pilatii. So it really needs to examine the apical ring shape, and also the contents of the paraphyses. I think I see a bit yellow-orange droplets. And spores could well be 5-6 µm wide. Asci in eichleri are over 200 µm.
The species is usually confined to conifers but I saw it also on a moss (Calypogeia) or on soil among Dicranella.

Thank you folks,
I can't see anyhing cleary until I find a better light for replacement of the one, that got the power from the broken transformer. So oil immersion is not an option now, it would not bring anything new (except more inaccuracy) to views. I'll keep a part of the specimen fresh and try to find something.
Everything seems a little bit comfortless now while the even before poor microscope is in such a bad condition and I got to return the loaned one.
But then I thought how much better things are than a year or two ago.
I've got a microscope anyway and it shows still something and I've got you folks :)
Thank you for being there: Marja

If you keep the apos fresh for some time you will probably get germination stages. In H. eichleri the spores form nice globose conidia, which would support my idea.

Hello,
I visited university today in a hurry.
Looked a little this on a university microscope and took only few photos, but managed to get one from the asci apex in Meltzer.
The asci were about 150-200x8-10 and spores 12-16 x5-6 (just few measurements).
Still one more day busy: Marja
