Good evening everyone,On March 4, 2026, I found the following asco growing on old catkins under a solitary Salix caprea in Beernem, Belgium.
I suspect it's Ciboria caucus.
Can this be confirmed based on the following photos?
Spores (free / in water):
(10.1) 10.6 - 12.1 (13) × (6) 6.1 - 6.6 (6.7) µm
Q = (1.6) 1.7 - 2 ; N = 30
Me = 11.2 × 6.3 µm ; Qe = 1.8

Yes, for sure, the firm apothecia with thick stipe and the large spores fit well.
I would include it in my article. Can you specify the location? Close to the river?
