small white discs on Campylopus introflexus
carl van den broeck, 19-11-2025 23:21
carl van den broeckDear guest

In Waardamme, Belgium, I found dozens of small white discs (less than 0.5 mm) on a tree stump of dying Campylopus introflexus, which were slightly tubular in shape. Microscopy revealed unitunicate asci (65 x 8 mu, IKI+) with 8 spores. The spores measured 10.2 x 4.4 mu, were ellipsoid to ovoid with a few guttules. Paraphyses contained oil droplets. Excipulum textura angularis.  Mayby Bryoscyphus.
can anyone help?
Thanks

Hi Carl,

We are in the process of publishing this species as new. which we know mostly on Campylopus introflexus . The spore shape is characteristic (among other )
You will soon discover it in our Ascomycete.org journal.

Would you like to give me your collection data ?
Amitiés
Michel
