Blackish synnemata or Mycocalicium
Alex Akulov, 10-03-2024 18:56
Alex AkulovDear colleagues,

Another mystery has arisen. A microscopic fungus that my student observed on the bark of a maple tree. I am not certain whether it is a type of Mycocalicium or some synnematous. Have any of you encountered this before?

Friendly,
Alex Akulov (Ukraine)

Re : Blackish synnemata or Mycocalicium
Dear Alex, we discussed this genus (or maybe even species) recently here: http://www.ascofrance.com/search_forum/78366 . There is also paper attached discussing this genus.

Best,

Adam
