Yellow disc anamorf on pine cone
Margot en Geert Vullings, 09-01-2024 18:56
We found these yellow discs on a pine cone and they turned out to be an anamorph. We received the suggestion Dendrodochium pinastri, which is listed in Ellis and Ellis and the conidiospore sizes are consistent with this.
Measured in water: Me = 3.1 × 1.5 µm ; Qe = 2.1
We cannot find anything about this species on the internet, there may be another name for this species, just as Dendrodochium citrinum is synonymous with Lemalis aurea?
Can anyone confirm it could be Dendrodochium pinastri or any other suggestion?

Many thanks in advance,

Margot&Geert

Hi MArgot,

The matter has been discussed on this forum at http://ascofrance.com/forum/41206/dendrodochium-sp
and also in the database (by our late friend Chris Yeates) : http://ascofrance.com/search_recolte/4021

Amitiés
Michel

Thanks Michel, in the discussion you refer to, Chris Yeates mentions two links that don't work for us, so unfortunately we can't read it.

Kind regards,

Margot&Geert

Re : Yellow disc anamorf on pine cone
Many thanks again Michel, then we assume that it is Dendrodochium pinastri, although this is also only a reference to spore sizes from Ellis and Ellis.

Kind regards, Margot&Geert
