Dear friends,In Balderschwang, near the border of Austria, we have found a small discomycete on dead wood of Alnus incana. I have checked several possibilities but I cannot get it closer as to the genus Strossmayeria.
However, the most striking feature here are the budding, multiseptate spores.
46.8 - 48.45 (48.5) × 3 - 3.35 (3.4) µm; Q = 14.5 - 15.5 ; Me = 47.6 × 3.2 µm ; Qe = 15
asci 110 - 130 x 9 - 10 µm, H+, IKI+bb, 8sp
paraphyses 2.0 - 2.2 µm broad
fb 365 - 450 µm diam., in section appearing somewhat gelatinous.
kreiselförmig bis kurzstielig

Any ideas welcome. Thanks.

I have checked again, but I could not manage to find any reaction of anything to MLZ (except apical plugs).
I have not seen any Pseudospiropes conidia, but the species is accompanied by an anamorphous stage which looks somewhat similar, disc like and about 1mm diam. Photos attached.
Conidia of that anamorph:
4.8 - 5.1 (5.5) × (1.2) 1.23 - 1.46 (1.5) µm; Q = (3.3) 3.34 - 4.1 (4.2) ; N = 10. Me = 5 × 1.4 µm ; Qe = 3.7.

I am quite sure it is the same as in Parachnopeziza, alaunae cf. 24-58 x 3-3.5 3-9-sept. P. gutt. I think that was found bei Ueli Graf?

On dead attached twig (partly without bark about 10cm diam.) of Alnus incana, Balderschwang, 06.11.23., leg. B. Wergen/K. Gilbert.
