Geoglossum
Malcolm Greaves, 05-01-2023 17:24
Malcolm GreavesI was asked to look at this dried Geoglossum specimen.
The spores were anything between 0-7 septate. The paraphyses were straight, swollen at the top and also darker towards the top. They were medium septate mostly c 2x1 length x width. The terminal elements of the stipe were again darker towards the top relatively broad and with close septa.
This seems a good fit for G vleugelianum according to Arauzo.
Unfortunaltely the spores are 60-85 which is much too long for this species.
Any thoughts would be welcome.
Thanks
Mal

Re : Geoglossum
Hello,
It's Geoglossum cookeanum because of the moniliform paraphyses. Kind regards

Re : Geoglossum
Thanks Luc, I was led astray by the fact that the were so few spores with 7 septa.
