Brown clusters on Sorbus branch

Clusters of these brown ascomata were growing on a thin, fallen branch of Sorbus aucuparia.
Asci with croziers, IKI+ dirty red - purple. Paraphyses cylindrical, with small low-refractive guttules. Margin cells with a roughened, hyaline tip. Spores globose, diameter 2.6 - 3.2 µm.
I'm not sure, but I get a feeling that this might be a lichen, rather than a pure ascomycete. Any thoughts?
