No doubt it is! It would be a new substrate, how sure is Acer? Did you look at the wood anatomy (Fraxinus is ring-pored) or was the branch attached to a living tree?

I am curious about the collection site.

You're right, I was wrong about the substrate. It's probably Fraxinus carried off by H. fraxineus. I will send you the location by mail.
