Enrique

Re:Hamatocanthoscypha sur Eucalyptus
The otheer collection is from 13.VII.08, Tübingen-Pfrondorf, Ulmus branch in 2.5 m above ground, on wood. Spores *6-7.5 x 2.5-2.8 µm. Macro attached. Same species or not? The genus is very crazy!
Let me also know your collection data. We noted that in these finds the young asci are 8-spored but 2-4 spores abort during maturation.

Re:Hamatocanthoscypha sur Eucalyptus
La Candaliega (Asturias) Spain, 28-II-2009, Eucalyptus globulus bark (1 m), ERD-4702. I think , only four fully mature ascospores exist in mature asci. Many times I have seen some spores aborted in 5-6spored asci..
I send you by e-mail my images of this collection.
Thank you, Zotto
