Bryoscyphus phascoides?
Juuso Äikäs, 14-09-2020 18:27
Today I found a few Hymenoscyphus-like fruitbodies growing on moss. While browsing through Zotto's files I discovered that there is a genus called Bryoscyphus, and the species B. phascoides seems to me to be a rather promising candidate. I'd still appreciate a second opinion.

iKI+, croziers+.

Spore measurements:

(12.5) 13.3 - 15.09 (15.1) × (3.7) 3.75 - 4.2 (4.3) µm
Q = (3.3) 3.5 - 4 (4.1) ; N = 10
Me = 14.4 × 3.9 µm ; Qe = 3.6

Re : Bryoscyphus phascoides?
Thanks a lot to both of you. I was thinking of sending the sample later to a museum with other ones, but I'll have to think if it's worth for just three tiny mature fruitbodies. Would be probably my smallest sample!

Re : Bryoscyphus phascoides?
Hello Juuso,
B. phascoides is not so rare and you can find more apothecia. Most likely the species can be found in lawns with Rhytidiadelphus squarrosus where it sometimes grows quite abundantly.
Best regards, Lothar

Re : Bryoscyphus phascoides?
Thanks for the tip! Maybe I'll search for more of them. I didn't find B. phascoides (or any phascoides) on the local list of species, so maybe there aren't many collections from here.
