White short-stipitate apothecia found on thin twig of Populus termula (Norway) , 0.2 - 0.8 mm in diameter. Spores ellipsoid with two polar guttules, ca. 5-6 x 2-2.5 µm. Asci (40-) 50-60 (-80) x 5 µm, biseriate, no croziers (I think), IKI+ (Lugol), but only weakly so; ascus pore seen in some, appearing like a ring in others, and some asci appear to be weakly amyloid in the upper part (ascus wall). Some asci without visible amyloid reaction. Paraphyses cylindrical, scarce, with large, elongate guttules (?) in water. Excipulum appears to be gelatinous (blurry cell outline). Marginal cells club-shaped, densely aggregated, with prominent, prismatic, refringent cells below. (I hope I'm describing this accurately.) Marginal cells turning yellow in Lugol.I'm thinking Calycina and possibly C. languida, which would be a new species for Norway.
Suggestions appreciated. Thanks!

Re : Calycina cf. languida
Yes, clearly without croziers, and typical C. languida. I examined the type from Finland. On Alnus viridis (alnobetula) exists a variant with croziers.
