Cucurbitaria (?) On Prunus sp.
Mirek Gryc, 20-05-2020 11:42
Hello all
I have no experience with this type at all, so please be patient if I give too little data. This is my first microscopic species of this kind.
The sporocarps are not yet ripe so I had to make several attempts before I came across mature spores. I did not make a vertical cross-section of the fruiting body, but if needed, I can take additional photos.
Any comments are welcome.

Hi Mirek,

Ostioles seem to be laterally compressed, so we can suggest Platystomum genus, perhaps P. compressum.

Re : Cucurbitaria (?) On Prunus sp.
Hi Alain
I had to read the available literature about them because, as I mentioned before, this topic is completely unknown to me.
I come to the conclusion that you are probably right but I can not determine the species.
Thank you
Mirek
