Hairy nectriaceous fungus

These gregarious, superficial, small (200-250 microns in diam.), hairy perithecia were growing on a thin white subiculum on decorticated hardwood (Alnus?). The perithecia do not appear to react in KOH, or at least do not give a reddish or purple color. (Bionectriacee?) The bicellular ascospores maybe finelly verrucose. The perithecia are covered by a thick coat of yellowish hairs with finely spiny walls. No anamorph I have seen.
Have you some idea for this collection?
Many thanks again

Re : Hairy nectriaceous fungus
Hi Enrique,
maybe you should compare your fungus to Nectriopsis and check if it is fongicolous.
All the best,
Christian

Re : Hairy nectriaceous fungus
Hello Christian
The fungus is definitely not fungicolous. I think I'm sure of it. There is no fruitbodys of pyrenomycetes under the perithecia, that grew on a scarce subiculum on bare wood.

Re : Hairy nectriaceous fungus
Ok Enrique,
I think your fungus could be Nectriopsis oropensoides because of spinulose hyphae.
Cheers,
Christian

Re : Hairy nectriaceous fungus
Yes! It fits well, Christian. Many thanks again. Do you have references on this fungus?

Re : Hairy nectriaceous fungus
N. oropensoides is a common species, widespread, I have collected it many times in metropolitan France, French West Indies and French Guiana.

Christian
