inoperculate from tree fern in Ethiopia with small round spores
Andreas Gminder, 27-08-2019 08:03
Andreas GminderHello,

found two weeks ago in an Ethiopian mountain forest on dead stem of a tree fern.
The apothecia are up to 5 cm in diam., reminding a Peziza on first glance.

The blue porus reaction suggests that it might be a sclerotiniaceae, though it rather looks like an encoelioid fungus.

The spores a small and round, appr. 3 µm in diameter.

Any suggestions to this quite remarkable fungus?

thanks and all the best,
Andreas
