Plicaria?
Guy Buddy, 26-08-2019 21:40
I was thinking this could be P. carbonaria or maybe P. trachycarpa but the spore size is too big and I would say the spores have warts, not spines.
Flesh rubbery, thick, outer and inner apothecium finely roughened, pigmented. Spores round, pigmented brown, with warts, ~16.6 um. Found in Pennsylvania, USA from the forest floor in mixed Quercus, Acer, Betula, Pinus, Tsuga forest.

Re : Plicaria?
Hi Guy.

I recommend literature:

René DOUGOUD - Plicariella scabrosa (Pezizales), une discale aux caractères
singuliers, dont certains demeuraient encore inconnus

Nicolas Van Vooren, Gilbert Moyne - Plicariella flavovirens comb. nov. (Ascomycota, Pezizales), une pézize remarquable

Henry Dissing, Donald H. Pfister - Scabropezia, a new genus of Pezizaceae (Pezizales)

I collected similar ones.
I initially recognized them as Plicariella scabrosa.
Similar habitat.
