Perhaps you should look at Lopadostoma s.l..
The article to read is in Persoonia 32. You will find inside the definition of the genus and description of accepted species.

likely a Lopadostoma. Ascus apical apparatus should stain blue in iodine and ascospores should have a germ slit.
You need to make a vertical section through the stroma by splitting the wood. Knowing the host is very helpful, often crucial. The bark on you image does not look like that of cherry.
