Eutypella ? on Crataegus sp.
Ethan Crenson, 20-02-2017 19:26
Hello,
From Central Park, NYC, on the bark of Crataegus sp. Short erumpant clustered black beaks that appear sulcate.  Perithecia surrounded by white powdery material.  Spores allantoid, yellow-brown.  Asci 8-spored, some with long stipes.  They appear IKI- though it is quite hard to discern.  Asci 48-58um by 6.5-8um. Spores with 1 or more guttules at each end.  8.5 - 12um by 1.5 - 2.5um.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re : Eutypella ? on Crataegus sp.
Bonsoir Ethan,

Thank you Paul.  I have tried, but was not successful at viewing the apical apparatus by pretreating in KOH.  However, this was my first attempt at using that technique.  Are there any resources that might help me learn it properly?
