Hysteropatella elliptica?
Per Vetlesen,

It was found on bark of Ulmus glabra in Stange, Norway. I think it is a Hysteropatella and it looks like H. elliptica, but I find little literature about it on internet. It has some greenish pigment in the top of the hymenium (does not show on photo because the microscope camera do not show colors well), IKI-.
Spores (17.7) 18.3 - 21.6 (22.8) × (5.6) 5.7 - 6.4 (6.6) µm; Q = (2.8) 3 - 3.7 (3.8) ; N = 30;Me = 20.1 × 6.1 µm ; Qe = 3.3
Is it H. elliptica or another species that I have overlooked?
Thanks in advance for help!
Regards
Per

Re : Hysteropatella elliptica?
Interesting case! H. elliptica is known to me only from Salix, but the characters would fit (though I see blusih pigment in the hymenium in H. elliptica). H. prostii is only known from Malus and has shorter spores (rarely over 20 µm, elliptica mostly over 20 µm).
How sure are you with Ulmus. Is it a standing dead tree with detaching bark?

Re : Hysteropatella elliptica?
Yes, I'm quite sure it is Ulmus. It is a fallen tree still alive and growing; you can see the leaves from new branches along the stem on the pic. As I understand H. prostii spores is about 2,8 L/W and H elliptica 3,2 which fit mine well and exclude H. prostii I think. And I see you have written "schwarzgrünliches Exsudat" on your drawing "Hysteropatella elliptica, HB 3468".

Re : Hysteropatella elliptica?
Really surprizing! Yes, this blueish astonished me, rather olive was in my mind.

Hi Zotto,
I agree olive may be a better description of the color. Thank you very much for your comments.
