Hello, this little black Helvella grew on a pasture near a river in the Altyn Arashan valley (Tien Shan mountains), Kyrgyzstan, in altitude 2600 m asl.
Fruitbodies were 12.5-21 mm high. Fertile part 11.5-20 mm broad, 3-17 mm high, black, of a different shape - two lobes divided by a groove, plane or irregularly warped. The inner part smooth, sometimes paler (dark grey or brownish grey) or also black. Stipe with ridges, greyish brown with a white felt, 4-16 x 2.5-6 mm.
Spores ellipsoid, hyaline, smooth, 17-19.5 x 11-12.5 micrometers, containing one large guttule (11-11.5 micrometers broad).
Asci cylindrical, non-amyloid, uniseriate, octosporic, without croziers, 265-290 x 13-15 micrometers.
Paraphyses blackish, septate, straight, 2.5-4.3 micrometers broad in the middle, 5.5-8 micrometers at the apex.
Medulla of textura intricata, hyaline.
Ectal excipulum of cylindrical or pyriform cells, brown-black.
Is it Helvella dovrensis?
Thanks, Zuzana

Re : Helvella dovrensis?
Hi Zuzana.
I think it's correct, although the red-brown colour of some stipes is unusual.
