Possible Chaetomium on Umbelliferae
John Leach, 04-05-2016 19:24
Hello everyone

During a Fungi survey at Longshaw (21st April 2016) I collected some plant stems. Of the several fungi species found was I think is a Chaetomium type. Having very little literature or knowledge of this genus I am struggling to identify.

Spores were in the region of 13 x 10 microns

Any help is much appreciated as usual

Best Wishes - John

Hello John
I think what you have there is a Botrytis growing from sclerotia on the umbellifer stem.

best wishes
Chris

PS there is also a Periconia sp. there . . .

Many thanks Chris. That's a good call.

As for the Periconia species, well yes, another day perhaps ????

Best Wishes - John
