im struggling to find a good fit for this colection, S. glutinans is i think closest but the spores are too narrow.
Perithecia: 0,8-1 mm high, on horse dung
Hairs: 2types-swollen agglutinated hairs, absent around the neck, present in the middle 50x10µm
-long, filiform hairs, present at the base
Asci: mainly biseriate, 8-spored
Spores: 26-30 x 14-15.5µm, pedicel straight 7-11µm
Thanks in advance,
Adam

Re : Schizothecium ?
Hi Adam,
in my opinion is this Schizothecium conicum with only few agglutinated hairs.
Greetings Peter.

Re : Schizothecium ?
Hi,
That was my first guess too,
but S.conicum should not have the long filiform hairs at the base? , also the absence of agg. hairs from neck is a consistent feature.

Re : Schizothecium ?
I agree with Peter.
This is Schizothecium conicum, a very variable species.
Sch. glutinans has more reduced hairtufts and larger spores.
Hyphoid hairs at the base you'll find in all species of the genus.

Norbert

Re : Schizothecium ?
Thank you very much Norbert. I had no idea, despite reading through Doveri´s key.
