Thorben Hülsewig, 04-03-2016 22:53
Hi there,
for 3 day i found on a rotten wood (i think fagus oder quercus) a Hyphomycet. I can't determine this fungus and hope you can help me with the determination.

thanks in advance,
Thorben

Re : Hyphomycet
Hello Thorben..

This is a species of Trichoderma, common on rotting wood, soil, dung and other substrates.  The species are very antagonistic to other fungi and are sometimes used for biocontrol.  The taxonomy is difficult and requires molecular techiques.  Species of Trichoderma are anamorphs of Hypocrea and related ascomycetes.
