Hi everybody,I found this Trematosphaeria species on Spartina anglica at the shore of the Wadden sea. Perithecia half immersed, single or in groups, diameter up to 0,8 mm, no basal wall detectible, the thickness of sidewall is up to 40 µm. Asci up to 186 x 14 µm, IKI negative. Spores mostly 5-septate, endcells slightly paler than the others, in all cells large oil-drops plus eventually some smaller ones. Spores smooth, no striate walls, without sheat or hyaline appendages, (31-38) 34.7 x 6.9 (6,5-7) µm.
Regards, Maren

Re : Trematosphaeria hydrophila?
Hi Maren, this is a very interesting find.
Trematosphaeria hydrophila is a variously interpreted taxon (Holm, Boise) that needs to be redefined. I know something referrable to T. hydrophila from freshwater habitats, lentic as lotic, with somewhat larger spores and different ascomata but fairly similar. I am not aware of reports from marine environment.
I send you my notes on this species privately.
Cheers,
Jacques

Hi Maren,
großartiger Fund. Hast du von der Kollektion nochwas übrig? Ich könnte es vergleichen mit einer ähnlichen Aufsammlung von Nobi, ebenfalls als "T. hydrophila" bestimmt.
