I found this on Juniperus communis in Stange, Norway in January 2015. I thought it was a Nitschkia or Calyculosphaeria, but could not find any 4-spored species that fitted my asco . Yesterday a found this thread on Ascofrance: http://ascofrance.com/forum/6724/nitschkia , is it 4-spored Nitschkia collapsa I have found?
Ascocarp: 0,2 – 0,3 mm
Spores: 12.1 [13.5 ; 14.3] 15.7 x 3.5 [3.9 ; 4.1] 4.4 µm
Q = 2.9 [3.4 ; 3.6] 4.1 ; N = 17 ; C = 95%
Me = 13.9 x 4 µm ; Qe = 3.5
Thanks in advance,
Per
Hi Per,
On your photo, we can see an asci with more than 4 ascospores, isn't it ?
Alain
Yes, it looks like some 8-spored and that 4-spored are aborted and some are 4-spored?
