Hymenoscyphus aff rokebyensis 101114 10
Miguel Ángel Ribes, 03-02-2015 18:35
Miguel Ãngel RibesGood evening

This small white-pale yellow, 1-2 mm, shortly stalked Hymenoscyphus was growing in Fagus sylvaticus cupules. The nearest species I found is H. rokebyensis, buy I have a lot of doubts.

Asci 8-spores, euamyloid, Hymenoscyphus type, with croziers (I think), (99.3) 100.6 - 123.3 (125.1) x (8.2) 8.5 - 11.6 (11.9) µm; Me = 114.7 x 10.0 µm.
Spores with navicular shape, sometimes slightly constricted at middle, with 1-2 small guttules at both sides of the nucleus, (13.5) 14.1 - 15.9 (16.7) x (4.4) 4.6 - 5.3 (5.5) µm; Q = (2.6) 2.8 - 3.2 (3.3); N = 58; Me = 15.0 x 5.0 µm; Qe = 3.0.
Paraphysis cylindrical, plenty of small-medium VBs, not branched.
Ectal excipulum with textura prismatica, becoming shorter and more subglobular at margin. External layer dark-brown with dextrinoid reaction at IKI.
Medullar excipulum with textura intricata

Thank you.

Re : Hymenoscyphus aff rokebyensis 101114 10
yes, clearly! But the asci are simple-septate. This is clear from your upper row. It occurs that detached asci show a bulge at the septum suggesting two septa.

Again please turn the spore plate upside down :-)

I wonder about the stalk of the apos, it should be there even if short.

You collected this in November as I can see from your number, not now.

Hi Zotto

Here is the spore plated turned.

Yes, it has a very short stipite and it is from November 2014.

Thanks again.
