First Ascobolus with warted spores
Malcolm Greaves, 23-01-2015 15:59
Malcolm GreavesThis was on gypsy horse dung. As the gypsys and their horses had been in an area where this quite rare Ascobolus has been found before I suppose it is quite likely to have reappeared.
With its distinct blue reaction to Meltzers and narrow small-warted spores I am sure this is Ascobolus hawaiiensis.

Re : First Ascobolus with warted spores
Bonsoir, oui, cela ressemble à Ascobolus hawaiensis.
Il serait cependant intéressant d'avoir la taille des spores (environ 18-21 x 10-11 pour hawaiensis)

Re : First Ascobolus with warted spores
Thanks Gilbert
I did mean to put the spore sizes. 19.8 - 21.9 x 8.6 - 10.5 so pretty close.
