Hi all

Black perithecia with long necks: 270-340um diameter + 390-500 x 95-120um neck.
They grow in groups of 2-15 individuals, around the presence of another ascomycete (Tympanis alnea). They grow without anastomosing or at the most 2-3 perithecia together. The necks are long and obliquely develop. They are errumpent beneath the bark.
The substrate is Pyrus sp.
I think it might be Calosphaeria. Perhaps C.pulchella, but the spores seem somewhat greater.
Can someone help me identify it correctly?
Thanks in advance.
Susana

Re : Calosphaeria
Hi Susana,

this is Calosphaeria princeps, which has a bit longer ascospores than C. pulchella. More collections have to be examined to find out if both species should be separated in future.
