Re : Calycellina ochracea ????
In the first microscopic I think I see behind the scale a living paraphysis with hyaline angular VBs. This would be very different from "Calycellina" ochracea.

Your fungus reminds me of a Rodwayella. Did it grow exposed, being moist only during rain?

Compare e.g. my folder "ochracea-like Myrica"

Re : Calycellina ochracea ????

Gracias.

I upload a new batch of pictures macro-micro for complete documentation.

As you can see the apotecio undergoes a marked redness to manipulation.
All soil collection this place covered in MOSS, in the last 20 days it rained 15dias by woods were soaked.
Can't find documentation on the genre Rodwayella, by that I would appreciate any information that may clarify some things.

Thank you.

Re : Calycellina ochracea ????
Hello Martin,

Another possibility for this fungus might be Pseudohelotium haematoideum = Calycina haematoidea.

I was sent a sample of a similar white fungus which turns blood red immediately when damaged. I then found it myself about three months later (both times on Rubus fruticosus).

The only other known find was the type material on unidentified wood in New Zealand in the year 1879.

The spores of the British material were becoming 3-septate and measuring in the range 18 - 26 x 4 - 5.3 microns.

If you would like to receive it, I can email to you a page which I created, as an additional page to my book (Ascomycetes in Colour), illustrating and describing this fungus. The page is too big to attach in Ascofrance (at 2.29Mb).

With Best Wishes,
Peter.

Hola

Gracias Zotto, Gracias Peter.

Joaquin.

Hello

I have his book Ascomycetes in colour, which seems to me a great collection of species, at the moment I would say that is an indispensable book.
You would be very grateful if send me that page additional to his book about Pseudohelotium haematoideum.

Thanks Zotto, thanks Peter.

Joaquin.

Re : Calycellina ochracea ????
Hi Peter & Jaques

Peter is right, I think it could be that species. I had studied the tyoe of haematoidea and receivd the fresh specimen from Peter. There is also a record by JP Priou which might be the same.

Here is the link to Calycellina haematoidea:

zizellaceae)/Calycina%20white/haematoidea

The link to Rodwayella is here:
https://www.cubbyusercontent.com/pl/CC%2bAscomycota/_1354d48ffaad4b59bd3ffdbb359

aceae)/Rodwayella

Rodwayella citrinula and calycellina ochracea I placed in a separate folder because of the multiguttulate paraphyses:
https://www.cubbyusercontent.com/pl/CC%2bAscomycota/_1354d48ffaad4b59bd3ffdbb3591
5d1f#CC%20Ascomycota/7a%20Helotiales/Hyaloscyphaceae%20with%20VBs%20(Pezizellac
eae)/citrinula-ochracea

Peter told me the links would not work.
I cut them now in pieces because they might not reach you in full. When put together they work, I tested it.
