Xylaria species from wetland
Ralph Vandiest, 01-12-2013 22:20
Ralph VandiestHello,

I found these xylaria between reed in a wetland. Salix grew nearby. Up to 10 cm tall. Spores 2,5/3,5x8/11µm. I thought X Filiformis but spore size doesn't fit.
No asci found.

Can anybody help me with this one?

regards,

Ralph

Re : Xylaria species from wetland
Hello Ralph,
Xylaria filiformis c'est possible, mais ici il est immature et il n'y a donc
ni asques ni ascospores mais des conidiospores. Celles-ci sont hyalines et
le resteront.
Cordialement
Paul

Re : Xylaria species from wetland
Hi ralph. i think you have the anamorphic state of a Xylaria species. Propagules you measured are typical conidia of a xylariaceous fungus.

Hello Paul & Filipe,

Thank for your answers. I will check again in a few days to see if I can find mature asci/spores.
