Aleuria??
Miguel Ángel Ribes,
29-07-2013 22:56

This small (< 1 cm) ¿Aleuria? is from Hayedo de la Tejera Negra (Fagus), 13-VII-2013, not burned place.
Spores with a big reticula, bigutulated: (12.7) 13.5 - 14.7 (15.7) x (6.8) 7.4 - 8.1 (8.7) µm; Q = (1.7) 1.73 - 1.9 (2.0) ; N = 55; Me = 14.1 x 7.7 µm; Qe = 1.8, without ornamentation, in water, 1000x, live. Ornamentation at the ends: (1.4) 1.7 - 2.6 (3.1) µm; Me = 2.2 µm. Ornamentation at sides: (1.0) 1.1 - 1.67 (1.7) µm; Me = 44.2 x 1.4 µm.
It doesn't fits with any Aleuria in my biblio.
Thank you.

Re : Aleuria??
Hi Beñat
I'm fine, thnaks, and you?
Aurantia? The problem is the macro shape: small, flat, not cupulate, very different from the one I know ... Perhaps you are right, micro fits ok.
Amically.

Re : Aleuria??
So, this another, is the same?
From Garajonay National Park, La Gomera (Canry Islands), laurisilva forest, very wet place, up to 8 cm the big one, deeply cupulate, with stem.
Spores (12.8) 13.4 - 14.9 (17.7) x (6.9) 7.5 - 8.5 (10.1) µm; Q = (1.6) 1.7 - 1.9 (2.0) ; N = 51; Me = 14.2 x 8.0 µm ; Qe = 1.8.
Thank you.

Re : Aleuria??
Re Miguel,
Yes, I'm fine too.
About Aleuria, I'm not a specialist but, last year, near my house, I have found an asco like your first. It was very little and I thought that was probably an Octospora or closed genus. I was surprised because it was Aleuria aurantia. In fact, there was very little but grew during two or three weeks to become larger and cupulate, like Aleuria aurantia macroscopic aspect known...
So, it's probably the explanation here, but I repeat, I'm not a specialist...
And the second, perhaps another person could help here but it arrived some pezizales specimens develop a stem to grow above the substrate...
In fact, the species like this with a stem are generally Sowerbyella but spores don't correspond here.
I don't know here if my explanation fits well...
Amically,
Beñat

About the first one, we thought about Melastiza, Octospora, Lamprospora...
About the second, big and with stem, we thought about Sowerbyella too, like you, in fact, the pictures file name are "Sowerbyella...".
Your explanation is perfect.
See you.

Re : Aleuria??
Eso dicen, menudo camuflaje, con dos aspectos bien distintos entre sí, y ambos muy alejados de las imágenes clásicas de A. aurantia. Este sábado vamos al mismo sitio, a la Tejera Negra, a ver si aparece de nuevo.
No croziers seen in both collections.
Un abrazo.
