Discostroma on Rubus idaeus
Björn Wergen, 24-05-2013 18:09
Björn WergenHi there,

here is another pyrenomycete growing on Rubus idaeus stems with small, black perithecia, embedded into the surface and covered with clypeus-like structures (Clypeus?). Perithecia are characteristicly amber coloured inside, as I have seen it in species of Discostroma.

The species has 3septate spores of 12-15x4-4,5µm size, hyalin, smooth. Asci uniseriate, unitunicate, IKI- (or very very weak +).

I have tried keys for Discostroma but had no success with it, as I came to "D. callistemonis", which has a different substrate :(

Thanks in advance!

All the best
björn
