Habitat : en grande quantité sur fût mort et décortiqué de Populus tremula tombé à terre.
Apothécies 0,5 mm de diamètre, courtement stipitées, hyménium blanc, surfaace externe blanche.
Asques 100-120 x 5-7 µm. avec crochetsn J+ faible, tétrasporiques.
Paraphyses réfringentes, 2 µm de diamètre, non renflées au sommet.
Spores 15-30 x 5-7, avec une cloison, contenant de nombreuses gouttes.
Je ne sais où aller...,

On the DVD you find this in the folder Calycina, because it is a Calycina.

Un grand merci pour la fiche.
Ma récolte correspond parfaitement à Calycina lactea telle que décrite sur la fiche avec cependant une différence : les asques sont tétrasporiques.

Pour les asques tétraspores c'est écrit en bas de la fiche !
Par contre le basionyme est Dasyscyphus lacteus Sacc. 1889 Syll. Fung. 8 : 436 « sub nomen Dassyscypha lactea (Ellis & Everh.) » car Helotium lacteum Ellis & Everh. 1888 J. Mycol. 4 : 56 est un homonyme postérieur par rapport à Helotium lacteum Cooke 1879 Grevillea 8 : 63.
En conclusion la combinaison à valider serait Calycina lactea (Sacc.) Baral.
Toutefois, si la synonymie avec Helotium parile (Karst.) Karst. 1871 Mycol. Fenn. 1 : 115 proposée par Dennis 1964 Persoonia 3 : 48 est confirmée, il faudrait alors employer la combinaison Calycina parilis (Karst.) O. Kuntze 1898 Rev. Gen. Pl. 3(2) : 448.

The situation in this species is that 4 spore early abort, so the asci are primarily 8-spored but finally effectively 4-spored.
I do not know about the type of lactea, but the type of parilis I studied, and this is 8-spored, with much smaller spores. You find it on the DVD, HB 5018.
