 this species is rather common in France, especially in low mountain. I've several collection of it.

These resinicolous discomycetes are actually rarely collected. But they are frequent, Guy marson will affirm that. Apotheciao of S. resinae I did not see very often, but S. difformis is a common species, quite rapidly found on any larger black resinous wound of any conifer branches, the branches often still alive. Of course, they are well-masked. There is a blackish-olivaceous Orbilia also on these wounds, but this is much more difficult to find.
I have about 35 records of S. difformis in my database, many by Guy from Luxembourg and S-France, but also here around.

Don't think so. The S. resinae anamorph forms yellow-orange pycnidia with hyaline conidia.
