Greenish Discomycete
Gernot Friebes, 15-12-2010 07:31
Hi,

I have no idea were to put this fungus - I hope, you can help me.

It grew on wood which was used for a rail around a little pond, approx. 1m above the ground, together with Orbilia leucostigma. The apothecia were whitish to greenish (usually a bit whiter than on the photo) and grew always on a thin, green layer (algae, I think). The paraphyses were hyaline, without any content and moniliform at the apex. In IKI the apex reacted darker red-brown than the rest of the paraphyses. The asci are 8-spored and can have a big dome when dead (see the photo in IKI). In IKI the apical apparatus turns slightly blue. The spores are 11-15 x 3-5 µm big, two-celled and usually slightly conctricted at the septum, hyaline, smooth and filled with some oil drops.

Best wishes,

Gernot

Hallo Gernot,

warum ist es kein Claussenomyces?

beste Grüße,
Andreas

You're right, Christian:

Dimerella pineti. Claussenomyces is IKI-.

Very characteristic are the densely septate, constricted paraph. apices.

Sory, it is now Coenogonium pineti (Ach.)

http://www.ascofrance.fr/index.php?r=forum&page=viewtopic&id=6059&highlight=clausseno#msg6059
