Hello,

a mushroom friend found this mushroom on Pinus bark.I think that the species is a Glonium, but cannot determine the species. Does anyone have ideas and further literature?

Peter.

Hi Peter,

Probably not an Hysteriaceae. Please check in Patellariales (perhaps in  Poetschia genus).

Alain

Hi Alain,

thank You. That's what I had too. Unfortunately, the finder could not tell me the consistency of the peridium.

Peter.

Hi, microscopically fits Poetschia cratincola, but is this macroscopic form acceptable ?

Peter.

Re : Glonium (?) on Pinus- bark
Hi,

this fungus is quite a mystery, and apparently not so rare on Pinus bark. See here: http://www.ascofrance.fr/search_forum/41100. I know that Mathias Andreasen also has a recent collection. But we don't have a name for it so far...

Best wishes,
Gernot
