New York City, Prospect Park, Brooklyn on rotted hardwood. Spores are brown, 1-septate, ellipsoid and slightly cinched at the septation. 15 - 22um by 5 - 5.5um. Asci I have measured are about 98 - 15 um. All photos are mounted in water.

Yes, I think this is very typical D. stygia.
I suppose you are aware of the strong IKI reaction of the asci.
