Found on twigs amongs moss on a stream side. 5mm across and a stalk up to 10mm long cream with slightly darker edge and underside.
Asci tip blued in Lugol and Meltzer and spores 14-15 x 5-6.
I was thinking a Hymenoscyphus sp but none that I can find fit. Is there any other information that would help.
Thanks
Mal

Re : Hymenoscyphus sp
Hi Malcolm,
Your 1rst image suggests the substrate may be a petiole and the ascus apparatus in IKI doesnt look like the Hymenoscyphus type.
If so, your fungus may be R. luteovirescens , not rare on Acer leaves ?
The figured spores look unmature .
Amitiés
Michel

Thanks for that. I have been so busy over the last few days I forgot to reply and also forgot that I had put a specimen for a spore drop. The result showed spores developing septa but I am not sure if that is part of the germination process which is taking place. Excluding the new growth they were 15.5 - 16.5 x 7 - 7.5.
Does this help?
