Hyaline Dothideomycete with glassy hairs
Hans-Otto Baral, 31-07-2009 23:36
Hans-Otto BaralHi
Guy sent me images of an interesting pyreno with long helicoid spores. Grown on inner face of detaching, dry, little rotten Fagus bark still attached to a standing trunk 20-25 cm thick in perhaps 1-2 m above ground, closely associated with Tubeufia cerea.

Perithecia ca. 150 µm diam (incl. hairs)

Asci *85-100µm x 12-14µm , 8spored, IKI not tested.

Spores helicoidally twisted within the living ascus, ca. 48-55 x 2,5-2,8 µm, with 3-5 septa and rather large LBs

Hairs hyaline, very thick-walled (glassy) with fine lumen.
