I'm relatively new to microscopy (only about 15 months of experience).
I recently found a fungus that I identified as Hymenoscyphus phyllogenus, but I haven't received any confirmation or feedback here in the Netherlands.
Unfortunately I no longer have the specimen/material.
This is a new group for me. Was I on the right track with this identification, or could it be something else?
Any help or second opinion would be greatly appreciated!"

Re : Hymenoscyphus phyllogenus
Hallo Mark,
You did not ask me.
this is something elementry different, it is Rutstroemia sydowiana, Rutstroemiaceae have a comlete different ascus apical apparatus with a widening at the top and a smaller widening below in Iodine solution.
Groeten,
Stip
