Récolté sur bois de feuillu mort dur, non pourrissant.
Apothécies grégaires blanches un peu translucides, 0,1-0,5 mm de diamètre, bordées de poils courts, muni d'un pied très court ou quasi absent.Poils lagéniformes un peu clavés au sommet 29-42 et large 1-2, finement verruqueux au sommet; Asques 57-74 x 6,4-7,5 µm IKI+ sans crochet.
Ascospores à nombreuses guttules aux pôles
(5,9) 6,8 - 8,9 (10,4) × (2,5) 2,6 - 3,2 (3,5) µm
Q = (2) 2,3 - 3,3 (3,8) ; N = 20
Me = 7,9 × 2,9 µm ; Qe = 2,8

This looks quite good, if the croziers are really absent. I prefer Hyaloscypha alniseda, as there is also a genetical difference.
