Nitschkia or Synaptospora on Juniperus communis, Denmark
Karen Poulsen, 05-11-2024 18:00
Hello,

Can anyone help with this one?

On twigs of still attached branches overgrown with grass.

A few fruiting bodies under the bark. I think without hair. Ostiole of elongated cells. Asci 4-8 spored, J-. Spores short cylindrical to almost round, 2-celled. Septum broad and black. Especially in lugol You also see drops, 6.4-7.3 x 5.2-6.1 µm.

Thank You

Regards,

Karen P.

Thank You, Andy

I don't think, the spores are quite right for petrakii, though. They seem too uniform and globose.
