Re : Asco sur Populus
Hmm, I fear more data are necessary. I considered Calycina lactea and C. subparilis, but both have strongly hemiamyloid apical rings.
Could you do a photo of the ascus apex in IKI, best in dead state?
C. lactea has croziers and only 4 developed spores and the apos are distinctly stalked. C. subparilis is simple-septate and 8-spored and the apos are very short-stalked.

Re : Asco sur Populus
Thanks Zotto. I put a preparation in KOH, then in Lugol, but I have no reaction from the top of the asci, I think my Lugol (from 2018) may be expired.
Otherwise, the apothecia are poorly stipitated. And there are 8 spores per asci, but it is not easy to highlight and photograph.

Re : Asco sur Populus
Difficult to say, and whether some have only 6 large spores could also be due to senescence.

Re : Asco sur Populus
OK. I will try to let it ripen by leaving the piece of wood in a cool place outside.
Thanks.
