Bryophilous fungi - scientists
Zuzana Sochorová (Egertová), 09-09-2023 11:31
Zuzana Sochorová (Egertová)Hello,
for the purposes of my thesis, I try to get known years of birth/death of the following scientists who published papers on bryophilous ascomycetes. I would be very grateful if somebody could help me.
Andrei Racovitza - I found in more resources that he was born in 1911, but don´t know when he died.
Michel Caillet - year of birth (I guess he is still alive)
Yei-Zeng Wang - year and country of birth (I think this person is also still alive).
Thank you, Zuzana

The correct Romanian spelling for Andrei Racovitza is Andrei Racovi??. He was born in 1911 in Paris, France and did his PhD under Roger Heim. I can't find the date of his death as well.

Regards

Martin

His first name was sometimes written in french form as André: https://www.biodiversitylibrary.org/page/58056880#page/11/mode/1up

His wife Angela seems to have been working with discomycetes too:

The scanned paper catalogues from university library in Cluj seem a good source, if you're interested in his bibliography:
