Pustulate apos on Acer petiole
Juuso Äikäs, 03-07-2023 06:47
These little apos were growing on a decaying petiole of Acer platanoides, together with cf. Pyrenopeziza petiolaris.

Asci 8-spored, IKI+(r), croziers present. Paraphyses were difficult to observe, but at least some of them appeared to be narrowly cylindrical with an irregular tip. Exctal excipulum seemed to be of textura angularis.

Spores ellipsoid, without contents, measuring:

(7.6) 7.61 - 8.6 (9.8) × 3.6 - 4.1 (4.2) µm
Q = (1.9) 2 - 2.4 (2.8) ; N = 10
Me = 8.3 × 3.8 µm ; Qe = 2.2

All suggestions are welcome.

A naevioid species. Laetinaevia or Aivenia or the like.

Re : Pustulate apos on Acer petiole
Thanks -- a new area to me. The species Naevala perexigua seems like a promising candidate.
