Found 07-04-26, in Abies cephalonica. Diameter 1,
It has some distinctive features but I haven't been able to put a name to it.
Apothecia sessile; dark grey hymenium & black exterior; ca 300 µm diam.
Excipulum a dark brown textura oblita, with marginal cells resembling small paraphyses.
Paraphyses narrowly cylindrical usually with a slightly swollen apex; a single cylindrical refractive VB in the upper part.
Asci ca 60-75 x 13-15 µm; 8-spored; no reaction in IKI.
Ascospores ellipsoid-fusiform to weakly obovoid; hyaline; 3-septate; with numerous small slightly refractive OBs; (11-)12-15 x 4-5 µm.
I'd be very grateful for any suggestions.
Marcus
My collection fits the description of Pezizella nigrocoticata well, apart from having rather smaller spores.
There are about 15 records from the UK, mainly in southern England.
